This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information about you when you use our application and website (the “Service”). This policy is written to meet Google Play’s requirements and applies whether you access the Service on the web or through our Hotwire Native apps on iOS and Android.
What we collect
- Account information. Name, email address, and password or single sign-on identifiers used to create and maintain your account.
- Sign‑in providers. If you choose to sign in with a third‑party provider (e.g., Google), we receive basic profile information from that provider to authenticate you. We do not receive your third‑party password.
- Profile and membership. Details you provide to participate in a church community, groups, or events within the app (for example: your church membership and group participation).
- Content you create. Messages, posts, and other content you submit (for example: group messages, church messages, event messages, and comments). Depending on your church’s/group’s settings, some content may be visible to other members in that church or group.
- Events and activity. Information related to events you create, view, register for, or share.
- Device and usage. Basic technical information sent by your browser or device, such as IP address, user‑agent, and cookies necessary for authentication and security. We do not use third‑party advertising SDKs or analytics.
- Push notification tokens. If you opt in, we store a device token to send notifications via Apple Push Notification service (APNs) and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM). These tokens identify your device but not you personally. You can opt out at any time in your device settings or within the app.
How we use information
- Provide, secure, and maintain the Service, including authentication, access control, and preventing abuse.
- Deliver features like groups, messages, events, and church membership.
- Send transactional notifications you request or that are part of the Service (for example, group updates or event reminders) via APNs/FCM when enabled.
- Respond to support requests and improve reliability and performance.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in limited cases:
- Service providers. Infrastructure, email, and push delivery providers who act on our behalf and are bound by confidentiality obligations.
- Authentication providers. If you sign in with a third‑party service (e.g., Google), they authenticate you according to their privacy policies.
- Legal. To comply with law, protect rights, safety, and security, or in connection with a merger, sale, or acquisition.
Push notifications
Push notifications are optional. If enabled, we store your device token and platform (Apple/Google) to send notifications through APNs/FCM. You can disable notifications at any time in the app settings or your device settings. Disabling removes or invalidates the token and stops further notifications.
Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies for login sessions and security. We do not use cookies for advertising or cross‑site tracking.
Data retention
We keep your information only as long as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated content, subject to any legal obligations to retain certain records.
Your choices and rights
- You can access and update your account information from within the Service.
- You can disable push notifications at any time from your device settings or within the app.
- You can request deletion of your account and data by visiting our account deletion page.
Children
The Service is intended for use by churches and their members. If you believe a child has provided us personal information without appropriate consent, please contact us so we can take steps to remove such information.
International transfers
Your information may be processed and stored in the country where we or our service providers operate. We take measures to protect your information in accordance with this policy.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post any changes on this page and update the “Last updated” date above. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice.
